An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Stock and Production planner to join a successful Footwear distribution company based in Central London.
The purpose of this role is to proactively manage the day-to-day stock ordering and delivery process within the supply chain ensuring optimum stock levels are maintained in the business at all times to fulfil customer requirements with maximum efficiency and profitability
Key tasks
- Responsible for the overall production planning and ordering process liaising closely with the Warehouse Manager, factories, agents and other colleagues in the company. Review and analyse stock and sales performance in detail by style and size to recommend ideal stock levels to satisfy customer demand while maximising profitability.
- Work closely with factories to confirm production schedules, place orders and monitor the supply chain identifying and communicating any problems or delays as they arise, proactively identifying solutions to minimise risk to sales. Maintaining agreed ideal stock levels by forecasting and monitoring production, sales, managing new and existing product deliveries.
Daily communication with factories and agents to build strong relationships and confidence Resolves problems utilizing acquired knowledge & analytical abilities Supporting the company in planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans Monitoring stock availability at range and product level using specialist computer software to make recommendations where stock levels require increasing or to take promotional action Assisting with the planning of budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges Providing sales and stock analysis to be able to support buying and range planning decisions.
Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data, reports and analysis Produce weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports regarding stock, sales and availability Input and maintain product and order information accurately on the system Skills required Previous experience of planning or coordinating wholesale stocks for retailers.
A degree or qualification in Business Administration, Production Operations Management and Scheduling, or a related discipline is highly desirable Strong analytical ability with commercial awareness and good negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present and report clearly.
Able to work quickly with 100% accuracy. Proven experience of working with Excel, Office at an advanced level A good team player able to assist with other tasks as required in a fast moving office environment.
