The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires are looking for a versatile, experienced reporter to cover two of the key countries mired in the eurozone crisis – Spain and Portugal. This exciting role, which will involve producing economic, political and business stories for several Dow Jones platforms including The Wall Street Journal, WSJ.com and Dow Jones Newswires, encompasses writing short real-time news pieces through to in-depth features and smart analysis and front-page pieces for the paper.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of breaking currency and economic-related news and delivering deeply reported stories including long-term investigative pieces. Given the importance of these economies to the eurozone, the job opening is a unique professional opportunity for skilled, motivated writers to offer breaking news and insight on what local developments mean in a global context. Candidates should demonstrate they are team players, and full fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.
